Where is Pine Island Nursery located?
We are 25 miles southwest of Miami, and 12 miles north of Homestead. Our address is 16300 SW 184th Street, Miami, Florida 33187.

Do you have other locations?
No, we operate exclusively from our one location and have done so since 1972. You may see our products in other garden centers and retail outlets throughout the country though.

Do you sell to the general public?
Yes. We welcome anyone who is interested in our products.

Do you offer volume discounts or wholesale pricing?
We offer wholesale pricing to landscapers, garden centers, or grove owners who present a valid re-sale tax certificate or other industry credential. Please call or email for an availability to be sent to you. There are no quantity discounts, however.

What are your hours of operation?
Monday through Friday 8:00–4:30 and Saturday 9:00–3:00.

Do I need to make an appointment to visit your nursery?
No, visitors are welcome to come by during our business hours.

Can I pick out my own tree?
Yes, and our trained staff will happily assist you if needed. Se habla espanol.

What are the different pot sizes?
Our trees are all sold in standard industry sized pots; 3gallon = 10” diameter pot, 7gallon = 14” diameter pot, 15 gallon = 17” diameter pot, and 25 gallon = 24” diameter pot. Please call or email for tree heights as they vary depending on variety.

Do you offer a delivery, design, or planting service for retail customers?
Local delivery is available for free with a $750 purchase. Inquire with the office about smaller and out of area deliveries. We will accommodate wherever possible for a reasonable fee. We don’t offer a planting or design service, but we can offer advice for putting the right plant in the right place.

Do you have a minimum order?
No, but it’s hard to leave with just one tree!

Do you sell or ship fruit?
We do offer the fruit from our groves for sale and for sample here at the nursery, but we do not ship fruit. Please feel free to come in and try and buy our gourmet varieties not available in stores.

Do you have a brochure you can mail?
We do not have a printed brochure that we can mail, but our website offers detailed information on our products including photographs and prices.

Do you sell citrus?
Pine Island Nursery was well known for its citrus trees, but with the ongoing threat and devastating
effects of citrus canker and citrus greening still being battled in Florida we decided to stop
production of citrus crops. It is not illegal to plant or grow citrus in your yard, and no government agency is currently removing trees. However, we do not recommend citrus be planted at this time.

Can I order your trees to be delivered to my local garden center?
You cannot order them directly from us to be delivered to your local garden center, but you can ask your local garden center manager to place an order with us and then purchase the plants on their terms.

Do you sell trees larger than a 25 gallon or field grown trees?
Select varieties of mango and avocado are now available 10 to 20 feet tall. They are grown in in ground containers (IGC's) which allow for field grown sized trees without the stress associated with digging and transplanting field grown material.

Do you ship mail order?
Yes, we ship the 3 gallon size via FedEx home delivery, no signature required. Shipping rates are a flat rate according to region, and are for one or two plants per box or multiples thereof. Please call, email, or fax the office for a quote. Three gallon pots are 10” diameter pots, and the trees are generally 3-4 feet tall, depend-ing on the variety. The 3 gallon size is the only size we ship through the mail. Click the mail order tab on the website for more details.

Do you offer a guarantee or warranty on your plants?
We guarantee the plants to be true to type and healthy upon purchase, but there is no expressed or implied warranty once a plant is in the customer’s care.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, but not to all countries worldwide. Inquire with the office for a determination. All international ship-ments are sent strictly FOB, meaning ownership is transferred the instant the plants leave our possession. In short the customer assumes all of the risk and responsibility for delayed, damaged, or dead plants and any issues with customs that may arise.

Are you certified to ship to California?
Yes we are, but due to the strict regulations imposed by California we charge an additional 50% of the plant cost as a California Compliance Fee. We also charge $55 for the phytosanitary certificate which is a flat fee for a State DPI inspection no matter the quantity of plants. For commercial orders the phytosanitary fee is $75 and the 50% California Compliance Fee and other restrictions do apply.
